A Discord server does not appear after authorization

Return to Firnity Discord for Confluence Global Settings and open Discord Servers.

  • If you cancelled the Discord step, choose Add server again.
  • If an existing connection needs renewed authorization, choose Reconnect on that server.
  • If the authorization result says the request expired or could not be verified, reopen Global Settings directly and start a new connection. Connection requests are one-use.
  • Use Add server, not Reconnect, when you intend to connect a different Discord server.

A channel shows Needs access

The app can see the channel but one or more feature permissions are missing. A Discord server owner or administrator with Manage Roles can recover it:

  1. In Discord, open the target channel's settings and choose Permissions.
  2. Select the Firnity Discord for Confluence app role. Add it to the channel if it is not listed.
  3. Allow every permission named in the Confluence recovery panel.
  4. Save the Discord change.
  5. Return to Confluence and select Recheck permissions.

For a channel synchronized with a category, update the category permissions. For an unsynchronized channel, update the channel itself. Check explicit denies on the app role and other roles if the channel stays blocked.

A channel shows Unavailable

The app cannot read the channel's name or metadata. Restore View Channel first, then recheck. The channel may also have been deleted or changed to an unsupported type. In that case, choose a different destination.

Permission checklist

A normal card destination needs View Channel and Send Messages. Features can also require Embed Links, Attach Files, Read Message History, Create Public Threads, Create Private Threads, or Send Messages in Threads. The editor identifies the permissions required for its current feature.

These channel statuses and recovery steps do not apply to direct-message destinations.
