Create a real-time rule first. It is the shortest way to verify the source, event, destination, and Discord card before you add scheduling or filters.
Choose where the rule belongs
- Use Global Settings for a rule that can watch the whole site or multiple selected spaces.
- Use Space Settings for a rule owned by the current space.
You need a connected Discord server, an accessible destination channel, and administrator access for the chosen scope.
Create and verify the rule
- Open Notifications and select New rule.
- Give the rule a name that explains the activity and audience.
- Under What should we watch?, choose the source. For a first test, choose one space or page with safe content.
- Under Where should we send it?, choose the connected Discord server and channel.
- Under When should we send it?, keep Real-time and choose at least one event: new page, update, or comment.
- Review the card in Preview, then select Send preview.
- Check the selected Discord channel. If the preview is correct, return to Confluence and select Save rule.
Sending a preview does not save the draft. Saving the rule does not resend the preview.
Confirm the first live delivery
Make one safe change that matches the rule, such as updating a test page. Check the destination and then open History in Notifications to confirm the delivery result.
If the destination shows Needs access or Unavailable, fix the channel before saving. If History says Send failed, review the failure detail and check the Discord channel before trying again because the message may already exist.
